BYOD turns Sim Time into a flexible private big-screen room for gaming, entertainment, presentations, training, and group events — while still giving you access to the normal Sim Time experience.
Console Gaming
Bring an Xbox, PlayStation, Nintendo Switch, retro console, or another compatible system and put your games on Sim Time's large projected screen. Wired HDMI is recommended for the lowest latency.
Movie & Streaming Night
Connect your own laptop or streaming device, sign in to your own services, bring the snacks, and turn the private room into your group's movie-night setup.
The Big Game
Bring a compatible source for the game or event you want to watch and enjoy it with your group on the big screen using wired HDMI, Guest AV, or a supported wireless display option.

Wired HDMI
Connect to the clearly labeled Guest HDMI connection. This is our recommended option for consoles and gaming when the lowest possible input delay matters.
Bring any device-specific adapter required to output HDMI.
Guest AV Connections
We also provide labeled Guest AV cables for compatible equipment, giving older or non-HDMI devices another wired way to connect to the venue system.
Wireless USB-C ScreenCast
Sim Time provides a j5create JVAW62 ScreenCast wireless display transmitter and receiver. Plug the provided USB-C transmitter into a compatible USB-C device and send video and audio to the big screen at up to 1080p Full HD.
The USB-C port must support DisplayPort Alt Mode. The JVAW62 does not require a driver download.
AirPlay, Miracast & Google Cast
The ScreenCast also supports native wireless display standards, so compatible phones, tablets, and computers may connect using AirPlay, Miracast, or Google Cast without using the USB-C transmitter.
Wireless compatibility depends on the specific device, operating system, app, and content provider.
Presenting from Windows or Mac?
The JVAW62 supports mirror and extended display modes on compatible Windows and macOS computers, which can be useful for slides, training, draft boards, and presentations.
Streaming protected content?
j5create lists HDCP 1.4 support and compatibility with major streaming services. Playback can still vary by device, app, account, and provider, so bring a wired source as a backup when a specific stream is essential.

Use the projected display for your live fantasy draft board while league members use phones or laptops around the room. It works for football, baseball, basketball, hockey, and other fantasy leagues, while longer sessions give everyone time to settle in without rushing picks.

A BYOD booking is still a Sim Time booking. If your group wants a break from the console, movie, draft board, or presentation, you can switch back and use Sim Time's available sports and games during the same reservation.

Sim Time provides the venue and AV connection options, not third-party subscriptions, game accounts, software licenses, broadcast rights, or guaranteed compatibility with every device or app. Guests are responsible for their equipment, accounts, and compliance with applicable provider terms and content restrictions.

What to know before you pack your gear.
Can I bring an Xbox, PlayStation, or Nintendo Switch?
Yes. HDMI-compatible consoles are a natural fit for Bring Your Own Device sessions. Bring the console, power supply, controllers, games, and anything else your system requires.
Can we stream Netflix or another service?
Yes, with a compatible source and your own account. The j5create ScreenCast hardware supports HDCP 1.4 and major streaming services, but actual playback or casting can still depend on the device, operating system, app, and provider. Sim Time does not provide streaming subscriptions or content accounts.
Can I connect a laptop?
Yes. You can use wired HDMI, a compatible Guest AV connection, or the provided j5create ScreenCast wireless system. The ScreenCast USB-C transmitter works with USB-C ports that support DisplayPort Alt Mode, and compatible devices may also support AirPlay, Miracast, or Google Cast.
Does Sim Time provide the HDMI connection?
Yes. Sim Time provides a clearly labeled Guest HDMI connection, labeled Guest AV cables for compatible equipment, and a j5create ScreenCast USB-C wireless display system. Bring any adapter required by your specific device if you plan to use a wired connection.
Can I connect wirelessly?
Yes. Sim Time provides a j5create JVAW62 ScreenCast wireless display system. Its USB-C transmitter can mirror or extend video and audio at up to 1080p from compatible USB-C devices whose ports support DisplayPort Alt Mode. Compatible devices may also cast using AirPlay, Miracast, or Google Cast. Wired HDMI is still the recommended choice for gaming when low latency matters.
Will my device use the room audio too?
The guest inputs are routed through the venue's AV setup, and the j5create ScreenCast can transmit compatible video and audio wirelessly to the display system.
Can we still use Sim Time's games during a BYOD booking?
Yes. A BYOD reservation is still a regular private Sim Time reservation. Your group can switch back to the available Sim Time sports and games during the session.
Can we bring food and drinks?
Yes. You may bring food, cake, snacks, and non-alcoholic drinks. Alcohol is not permitted.
How many people can come?
The venue has seating for 18 plus additional standing room for larger groups. Up to about eight people can actively use the simulator play area at one time, depending on the activity.
How long should we book?
Two hours can work for a focused activity, but 3–5 hours is often more comfortable for gaming nights, draft parties, movies, larger groups, or sessions that mix your device with Sim Time's other games. Multi-hour discounts are shown during booking.
Is the room private?
Yes. Only one group is booked at a time, so your reservation gives your group the entire Sim Time venue to itself.
